2024 Lotus Eletre: First-ever SUV to Compete with Supercars, With 905 Horsepower
The first feature of supercars everyone knows is that they are fast cars, faster than regular SUVs and sedan vehicles. However, it looks like a new SUV in the market is out to challenge that belief. This SUV is said to be faster than many supercars.
The name of the SUV is the Lotus Eletre and the Lotus brand has revealed more information concerning it. It’s also the brand’s first-ever SUV.
The SUV will come in three versions, and the range-topping variant is actually faster than most supercars.
The first two versions of it available are the Eletre and the Eletre S. They are both powered by two electric motors, one at each axle. They both produce 603 horsepower individually.
Both cars can accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds and have a top speed of 160 mph.
The brand will fit the Eletre S with some cool luxury options that aren’t available on the standard model, such as privacy glass and the 23-speaker sound system.
The third version of the SUV is the “Eletre R,” and it’s the most exciting of all three.
Like the other two SU versions, it has a dual-motor powertrain, but the electric unit on the rear axle is twice as powerful.
The Eletre R produces 905 horsepower and 726 lb-ft of torque, which means it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds.
This is even faster than the Lamborghini Huracán STO, even the Porsche 911 GT3.
The vehicle is an electric car, and the Eletre and the Eletre S have a range of 373 miles, while the Eletre R can only travel up to 304 miles between charges.
This first-ever SUV is a big deal for its company as it allows it to go up against the big names in the industry.
The Eletre will compete with Porsche Cayenne, Porsche Macan, and SUVs from Audi, BMW, and Mercedes.
The standard Eletre will sell for $102,000, and the high-performance Eletre R will sell for $140,000.
