Gunmen r*pe and kill MAPOLY beauty queen

An ND II student of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Ogun State, identified as Happiness Okwa, was on Tuesday evening, August 9, abducted, raped, and killed by gunmen

The Mass Communication student who won the Miss MAPOLY beauty contest on August 3, 2022, was said to have been abducted while she was on her way to Ipara, in Ode Remo of Ogun state.

The unfortunate incident was confirmed by the MAPOLY Students Union President, Sodiq Ajani, in a statement jointly signed with the Public Relations Officer, Joy Okolie, on Saturday, August 13.

The statement revealed that the student was kidnapped while going to visit a movie location along Iperu road. It further disclaimed rumors making its rounds that happiness death was associated with her recent status as the new Miss MAPOLY.

The SUG President also explained that the murderers took away the victim’s phone and the police have commenced investigations to get the assailants arrested.

Ajani disclosed that the body of the slain student had been deposited at the morgue of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu.
