Adedamola Adefolahan popularly known as Fireboy DML is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He was born on the 5th of February 1996. He is currently signed to YBNL Nation, an indispensable and independent record label; it was founded by Nigerian rapper Olamide. Fireboy’s debut studio album Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps was released in late 2019. He won Listener’s Choice and was nominated for the Song of the Year category for his song “Jealous” at the 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards Festival.

Fireboy DML spent his early life in Abeokuta and was a devoted member of his local church choir. His interest in music developed while he was studying at Obafemi Awolowo University. His breakthrough single “Jealous” first appeared on YBNL Nation’s collaborative album YBNL Mafia Family in the year 2018, before being re-released officially on 25 March 2019.
The song combines African harmonies with little elements of country and soul music. The song “Jealous” was produced by Cracker Mallo and it concentrated on love and the complicated feelings that go along with it. The official video for “Jealous” was directed by Director K.

On the 14th of June 2019, Fireboy DML released another romantic hot single titled “What If I Say”. It was produced by Pheelz, who did an amazing job on the song. The video for the song “What If I Say” was directed by TG Omori, a Nigerian director that has been making waves since 2019. Because that was a big moment for me. I met Olamide for the first time in person at a hotel in Lekki. We exchanged a few words — he’s a man of few words. But I think we started recording that same day, working on the album.
