Ademola Adeleke and his late brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, ventured into politics in 2001. Before that, he was associated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) until he switched to the PDP. In a closely contested PDP nomination for governor of Osun State, he defeated Akin Ogunbiyi by a narrow margin of seven votes.
