The Federal Government has made provision for the release of N470bn special fund in the 2023 budget for university revitalization and the upward review of lecturers’ salaries. The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, made this known at a briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, October 19.

According to the minister, out of the N470bn, N170 billion is for the upward review of lecturers’ salaries, while N300 billion is for the revitalization of universities.

The minister further disclosed that a total of 2.05 trillion Naira has been allocated to the education sector and 1.58 trillion Naira was budgeted for the health sector in the budget.
