FULafia set to resume academic activities
The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has indicated its readiness to resume academic activities on its campuses. This was contained in a circular issued by Management of the institution on Monday, September 26, 2022.
The circular said the readiness of the institution to commence academic activities in the University was sequel to a directive given by the Federal Ministry of Education, through the National Universities Commission (NUC), mandating vice-chancellors to re-open schools and allow students resume lectures.
The directive was signed by the Director, Finance and Accounts of the NUC, Sam Onazi, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the commission.
The letter directed vice-chancellors; pro-chancellors and chairmen of governing councils of federal universities to
“Ensure that ASUU members, immediately, resume/commence lectures; restore the daily activities and routines of the various university campuses.”
Thus, it was in compliance with the directive that the Management of Federal University of Lafia issued an action plan with a view to mobilising financial and material resources and carry out sanitation and fumigation within the campuses, repair damaged facilities and hold meetings of Senate and Congregation to put the campuses in good condition before the eventual resumption of students on October 10, 2022.
