Ibinabo’s entry into the world of beauty pageants began with the Miss Nigeria contest in 1991, where she achieved the first runner-up position. Her charisma and grace continued to shine as she participated in various other competitions, including the Miss Wonderland contest in 1990 and the Miss NUGA competition, where she secured the first runner-up title. In the 1992 edition of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) pageant, she impressed as the second runner-up.

In her personal life, Ibinabo found happiness and love with her husband, Uche Egbuka, with whom she tied the knot in 2014. The couple is blessed with two sons. Prior to her marriage, she was in a relationship with Fred Amata, and they have a daughter named Zino Amata.

Unfortunately, Ibinabo Fiberesima faced a major controversy that impacted her life and career. In 2006, she was involved in a tragic incident resulting in the accidental death of a woman named Giwa Suraj. In 2009, she was charged with manslaughter and reckless driving. Subsequently, she was expelled from her position as the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria and sentenced to a 5-year prison term by a Federal High Court in Lagos in 2016. However, she appealed the decision, and on April 7, 2016, the Lagos Court of Appeal granted her bail pending the outcome of her appeal at the Supreme Court.
