The Imo State University (IMSU) chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has denied calling off the ASUU strike after the university management, through its public relations officer, Ralph Njokuobi, issued a statement announcing the resumption of academic activities and the suspension of the strike.

The chapter chairman of ASUU, Odinakachukwu Ejiogu, while reacting to the resumption directives, said the strike can only be collectively called off by the national leadership of the union.

He further added that an exco meeting has been slated to hold on 20th September 2022 to evaluate the entire process, while an emergency congress has been scheduled for September 22. ASUU members were further warned against attending senate meetings during the strike period as it would be considered that the strike has been called off and violators will be sanctioned accordingly.
