Student arraigned in court for running over another student during a car stunt

A Sokoto state magistrate court has remanded one student, Aliyu Sunusi Umar, (male) in the Sokoto Correctional Centre after knocking down another student, 16-year-old Fatima Suleiman (female), which led to the amputation of one of her legs.

It was gathered that Fatima, a final year student of Khalifa International Model located along Nana Asma’u Road Sokoto, was hit by Aliyu on the school’s graduation day shortly after her final exams while he was performing a car stunt.

According to Fatima, she was exchanging contacts and signing autographs while celebrating the end of their exams with her friends after which they went to sit outside the school premises to wait for her mother who was meant to pick her up from school.

While waiting outside, Aliyu who is also a final year student from another school came around in his car to display some stunts but was told to leave after the students reported him to the school management for splashing murky water on them.

However, he was said to have returned to the scene to continue with the stunts till he eventually lost control of the car and rammed into the student which left Fatima with an amputated leg.
