Victor Osimhen Biography

Victor Osimhen was born on the 29th of September 1998. He goes by the full name of Victor James Osimhen. Although from the Esan tribe in the South-East of Edo state, he was born in Lagos, State Nigeria, to Mr and Mrs Patrick Osimhen. The 6’1 feet tall footballer also has 6 siblings and the 7th of his siblings.

However, Victor lost his father on the 24th of May 2020 at 80 years old after a sickness. He took to Twitter then to dedicate his Best African Player in Ligue 1 award to the memory of his late father. The footballer also lost his mother, whom he now uses as a display picture on his Instagram page.

Victor Osimhen started his football career at the Ultimate Strikers Academy in Lagos, Nigeria. On January 16, after being noticed for his performance at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup, he committed to a contract with VfL Wolfsburg. His performance also earned him the CAF Youth Player of the Year award in 2015.

In June 2017, he made his senior debut performance for Super Eagles in a 3-0 friendly win over Togo.

His senior football career started in Germany at VfL Wolfsburg in 2017. He moved to the Belgian side Charleroi on loan in 2018-2019 before finally moving to France at Lille. Victor Osimhen transferred to Serie A club Napoli for a club-record fee of 70 million Euros in 2020.

Victor has also had the opportunity of meeting his idol Ronaldo and captioning the pictures he took with him, he said, “I asked for Ronaldo’s shirt, and he invited me to the dressing room and gave me his shirt. He was very kind and welcoming and what the press writes about him is the opposite.”
