The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the National Universities Commission, (NUC), the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), and the National Commission for Colleges of Education have threatened to sanction universities selling application forms for the conduct of the 2022/2023 admissions.

The regulatory agencies, in a memo titled “Serialisation of guidelines for the 2022 admissions exercise” directed that all applications for admissions to First Degree, National Diploma, National Innovation Diploma, and the Nigeria Certificate in Education into Full-Time, Distance Learning, Part-Time, Outreach, Sandwich, etc, must be processed only through JAMB Central Admission Processing System (JAMB-CAPS).

According to the memo, this is to curtail the high rate of irregular admissions conducted by institutions.

Though JAMB had commenced the conduct for the 2022/2023 admissions in August 2022 with the deadline pegged at December 31, 2022, it was gathered that some institutions were conducting admission out of JAMB-CAPS hence the warning.
